In my experience with dyne:bolic, I often have to manually edit the
xorg.conf. You may want to just look at the dynebolic
/etc/X11/xorg.conf and your ubuntu /etc/X11/xorg.conf and try changing
the device settings in the dynebolic file until the dynebolic xorg is
able to run (you will need to create an .xinitrc file (it can just be
a single line saying "wmaker" or "fluxbox") and you will need to run
startx manually (you shouldn't need any arguments, just "startx" will
work)). If you are not comfortable editing files in tty mode and using
the command line, using a different video card is a possibility too.
