Agree! If it's indeed the behavior of specimen and it's been there all
along, I'm surprised. I just released a CD two months ago (done entirely
in linux) with specimen on most tracks, and I can't believe that I
didn't notice this!

I never used it, but the change log suggests that it's in fact a panic
button.
