And another answer to myself, sorry for that.

I could borrow a laptop today, went to the store, booted a
pure:dyne live-CD ("miso") and tested the midi of the DGX-630, aaaand
it works :)
I just did a very basic test. By connecting to zynaddsubfx using
qjackctl and hitting the keys it produced sound.

So yeah, I decided to order that device and got a better deal than
I would have by ordering from thomann.

I guess adding the device to the alsa and the other usb-device site
would be a sensible step to do now?
