I have a dual socket quad core opteron system from Tyan. I run an
extensive amount of JACK stuff with JACK-2, but I have not played with
its multiprocessor capability, yet. Ardours' multiprocessor code for
plugins is still a work in progress and I don't think any other plugin
hosts, like Ingen, does multiprocessing, yet, sadly.

I've also started to work a little with video, but I have little
experience here. I've made a few videos using cinelerra, but not done
any real 1080p editing.

My friend just bought an 8 socket Opteron system with a shitload of
memory, from Tyan, but it's not assembled, yet;).

Well, you need to be a little more specific, like what you want to
know. I've had no problems with anything not working. I haven't played
with lmsensors, yet, but I pretty much know it's working. I run my own
distro.
