coincident means that the signal was obtained with two directional

also called XY stereo, as opposed to AB stereo, where two mikes (most
commonly omnis) are spaced apart and the stereo effect is caused by time
differences only.
combinations of the two (spaced and directional microphones) are also
used frequently - google for NOS or ORTF microphone patterns.
