[LAU] Alesis IO|2 Ubuntu

Hi everyone,

i hope someon can help me. I have an alesis io|2 Usb Audio Interface.
It is recognized as a device and Jack works perfect. BUT i can't do
anything else. E.g. playing an mp3 file through audacious doesn't work.
I can select the io2 as output device with pavucontrol but it stays
silent and audacious stops playing (at least the seconds freeze)...

I found this page

But i doesn't work for me.

I use Ubuntu 9.04
