I'm inclined to think that this error (end_request, Buffer I/O) is quite
normal for a laptop that presents a floppy drive to the kernel via the
BIOS yet doesn't have one ... and your real problem is that udev is
failing to proceed.
Does the error also get logged in dmesg during
2.6.29.5-1.rt22.1.fc11.ccrma.i586.rt or 2.6.29.5-191.fc11.i586.?
