$ cat /proc/asound/cards
 0 [ICH5           ]: ICH4 - Intel ICH5
                     Intel ICH5 with AD1980 at irq 17
 1 [M2496          ]: ICE1712 - M Audio Audiophile 24/96
                     M Audio Audiophile 24/96 at 0xde60, irq 19

Why bother doing that? Just specify hw:M2496 instead.

Peter.

Now that is a Very Neat Trick.  Tell me:  if I wanted to run two copies of jackd, one on each of two sound cards, could I run two copies of Qjackctl, each pointing to a different sound card by name, a la the above?
