Ardour installs within seconds from the Synaptic. Version 2.8.2, stable and
in perfect working condition.

Everything leans towards Grub2 lately. It is Ubuntu's default boot manager
too and since PD is based on Ubuntu...
It offers much more flexibility as well...

AVLinux is another lean audio distro that works very well on 64bit systems.
