Why don't you just play acoustic guitar or alto recorder ? :-)

Two difficult cases if you want to remain friends with the
neighbours. In that case you need isolation and that is always
an order of magnitude more difficult and expensive than just
some absorption. The cheapest options could be to

a) move,
b) buy out the neighbours,
c) bribe them.

In particular isolating bass can be difficult. If the existing
walls don't provide the necessary attenuation then only more
heavy and thicker ones will. Try to avoid direct transmission
(i.e. not via the air but via the building structure) by putting
the amp/speaker on some damping material.

For the trumpet, one thing you could do is to play facing
and close to a very absorbing surface. Trumpets are quite
directional as a sound source, so this will limit the problem
close to the source.

Ciao,
