[LAU] does tartini run on linux

I heard some v good reviews of tartini http://miracle.otago.ac.nz/tartini/
on the tunings yahoo list. So tried to compile and run it. So far have not
managed to get it to compile on my debian squeeze

The author claims that it was developed on FC6. Has someone got it to run
on a linux??
