You could also have a look at Pure Data (aka Pd): it's also an audio
synthesys language, but of the dataflow type... It shouldn't be too hard
to implement what you describe:

- save bassline pitches to 'something' readable by PD (text-file, array
etc.)
- create triggering mechanism for bass-drum (basically an audio trigger)
- when note is to be triggered send it to some form of bass synth which
could be:
     a) directly imlpemented in Pd
     b) midi (using Pd's 'midiout' features)

Of course don't take may draft too literally :)
