I found that if I use this syntax instead the package from ATRpms works

  /usr/bin/ffmpeg -i /mnt/store/20560_20100503190000.mpg -acodec
libmp3lame -ar 48000 -ab 128k /root/test.mp3

I don't understand why this has changed or really why the previous
syntax worked
