most consumer audio interfaces (which it sounds as though yours is)
can only deal with a single input stream/connector at once. you
therefore have to choose which one to use using a hardware mixer
application (such as the terminal-based alsamixer), since JACK offers
no control over this (its highly device specific, and so not part of
JACK's mission.
