hi louigi,
i have changed the OSM wiki http://opensourcemusician.com/index.php/Tunestorm#Current_Tunestorm to include an email address for people who really don't want to register at soundcloud.
i will repeat though that soundcloud is really worth checking out, aside from the support for open file formats such as ogg and flac, the way you can comment on tracks on the timeline is really useful and i hope that it would encourage lots of constructive crits within the group that could work really well.
for criticism 2, yeah the sample is a (nearly)sine wave, the source of it though is slightly more unusual than simply generating this in your chosen synth.
maybe the way the sample has been generated is making me choose it where otherwise i wouldn't have, what can i say i was quite impressed with my friends DIY work and using a hard drive in this way.

thanks for your commentssim

Hello Sim!
Here is my criticism, I hope it is constructive and helpful.
1. The need to register at soundcloud is not very convenient. An option to send a submission to you would be good (I did not find it mentioned in the letter).

2. I would say that the sample is not very inspiring, at least to me. I would think that the point of offering a sample is that it sounds unique and interesting. That kind of noise I can easily generate in two minutes myself.

Not that I would not consider participating.
