Neither Phasex nor Ingen (which was the thing that looked most
promising) will build. This was why I specifically asked about plugins
for JACK Rack (thinking there might have been some I'd overlooked). It
seems that every time some suggests new software it ends up the same,
back at square one many, many frustrating hours later.

Sod the hardware/software combo, I'm going back to using the Windows
software emulation of the hardware as it "just works" (under Wine), not
that I'm in the mood for making music at all now :-(
