David, I guess everybody who makes serious audio work needs a kernel-rt
too, hard to imagine that some people really don't need a kernel-rt.

I'll test kernel 2.6.39.1

$ uname -a
Linux debian 2.6.39.1 #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Jun 7 01:40:05 CEST 2011 x86_64
GNU/Linux

Just PREEMPT? No RT? I don't know.

I once had a kernel PREEMPT and there were issues when I tried to use it
for audio. But perhaps the vanilla 2.6.39.1 is ok.
