Hello everyone!
Thank you all for the wonderful help. It's done. Don't ask me, what finally
put it right. We approached it somewhat sideways and edge-wards and had some
improvements along the way. Perhaps it really was a reboot after all the
reconfiguring and restarting of the network service and whatever else. The main
thing is, LinuxSampler is now reachable and the msuci can begin. I know a very
happy chap making love to his gigatron. He also says: THANKS!
