i don't really intend anything. what and how you would do this depends on
what level you're working at. as a user (not a developer), you would have
to bring up a h/w mixer app (alsamixer, gamix, qamix etc) and reset the
controls. there's nothing in JACK that would allow you to do this.
developing with ALSA would require you to learn the control API and use it
to modify the h/w mixer. i'm not even certain that this would work either.
if it did, it should probably be done in the device driver itself.
