with a Audiophile 2496 PCI, my system seems to be "reasonably" stable at
256/2/88200, and quite stable at 512/2/88200

I prefer using a script which (should :-) turn my "desktop system" into
a "RT DAW Audio System": I can edit the script so I can decide exactly
what to do...
