Any stereo recording using two mics with a distance that
would result them being in phase at LF but not correlated
at HF. E.g. two close mics on a piano.

Also converting binaural (or similar) recordings for
reproduction over speakers rather than headphones
requires some very special EQ in the M/S domain.
