As it most likely doesn't do busmaster DMA, it could be the X server
doing nasty things. What X server? Not too long ago, there were
still hard STIs/CLIs in there... (Some RTLinux people had problems
with that, as it ruins the RT timing, and can't be prevented at run
time.) You could try the standard VGA (*urgh!*) server just to see
if it makes a differece.
