We need to ask Steinberg. My reading of the above is that if we
created an API that clearly credited Steinberg as the inspiration,
extended it in several ways, and released it under the GPL or some
other license that prohibited for-cost distribution, then we would not
have violated the terms of their license, and we could distribute the
API ourselves. But as I said, we need to ask Steinberg, and we are.
