Hey, cool - I wonder why I haven't discovered this earlier - I thought I
had been browsing a lot of other sound-related SourceForge projects! :-)
(Well, ok, maybe categorizing it in the Trove as just "Conversion" was not
obvious enough for me :-)

You might be talking about Paul Kellett, who has some more info about this

Also, there's a bunch of perl (!) scripts by Hiroyuki Ohsaki that allow
reading single files from Akai CDs at:

Same experience for me, they were never very responsive. By the way, the
same is true for Creamware and their products (I won a PowerSampler this
year). I mailed them twice so far, asking for any documentation, SDK or
help, but got "Nay" each time. But I still have other sources to try..
