Subject: [linux-audio-dev] compiling MiXViews, G++ help needed

Greetings:
Since I wasn't frustrated enough by spending myself into poverty for
the Christmas holiday, I decided to compile the latest MiXViews (code
released earlier this year).
Compiling this app has never been trivial. It relies upon the
antiquated InterViews library, and apparently it also depends upon
components no longer available in G++. I was able to compile a new
InterViews shared lib, but I'm still stuck in the MiXViews code.
For instance, it wants builtin.h and String.h, neither of which is
included with the G++ environment standard with RH 6.1. I no longer have
the old (libc5!) G++ development stuff around, and I'm certainly no C++
programmer, so I'm asking the gurus on this list for help. With what
should I replace those headers ??
Anyone have any suggestions ? Please let me know what other info I
should supply, I'll be happy to oblige. Any assistance will be vastly
appreciated.
Best regards,
== Dave Phillips
