This could be related to Gigasampler matters (but they might not have
anything to do with them).
In addition you can use the TrackSpeed technology to repeatedly start
and stop playback for rehearsing overdubs - instantaneously and with
zero load time! This is especially useful when you are working at a
certain section of a multitrack project! Another TrackSpeed option
allows direct scrubbing of all tracks - forward and backward

TrackSpeed uses the fast RAM of the PC to intelligently and
efficiently pre-load the audio data that is required next. This
enables Samplitude's internal audio engine to keep the size of the
audio buffers small (e.g. 8000 samples or less) and still perform
well, even when many tracks are used. The result is a very fast system
response when you operate the mixer or edit the various object
handles.
Looks like they keep beginnings in the memory...
