For me, the sound support for the IBM alphaworks version of java 1.3
doesn't work at all. The Sun version does, but I do get that ticking that
you describe. Have you tried Tritonus
(http://tritonus.sourceforge.net) with blackdown Java 1.2? I think that
gives you the same functionality. Maybe it would work with Silence.
