[sorry for multiple cross-postings]

Finally, it's done. It's out in the bookstores.

"The Book of Linux Music & Sound" -
How to install, configure and use linux audio software
by Dave Phillips
No Starch Press ISBN 1-886411-34-4
$ 39.95 (with CD-Rom)
(http://www.nostarch.com/lms.htm)

For those who get close to Linux for the first time, the book is
a great source to get started rapidly on sound and multimedia.
I must say that even for old farts like me :), this book has
been invaluable in discovering things that I did not even think
were possible.

Most of you know Dave Phillips:
he is the maintainer of the
"Sound & MIDI Software for Linux" site
(http://www.bright.net/~dlphilp/linuxsound/).

The CD-ROM contains most software packages
discussed in the book.

Enjoy
