have you checked out the loop editor in Bias Peak (i think thats where
i saw it, though it could have been CoolEdit). its exceptionally cool,
presenting the end section of a loop in the left hand-side of a
window, and the beginning section on the right. a dividing line down
the middle allows you to drag the start and/or end point forward or
backward in time, and you can watch the waveforms line up, or not.

i think they have a facility to apply a fade to one or both of the two
sections so as to get a perfect zero-crossing splice. if they don't
they should and you can guarantee that the version of this idea that
gets done for sweep and ardour will include this.

unless, of course, BIAS have patented the interface :)
