Hi,

Every programmer should write the documentation himself as he understands
what is going on, that is actually what we do in the GLAME project.
ALSA is poorly documented, what you can extract with doxygen right now,
isn't much better than reading the header file and wondering what
all these functions might do. In the meantime we have quite good support
for alsa 0.9 in GLAME, but it was no fun programming. Just a lot of trial
and error. There not many projects right now that support native alsa,
guess why..

Cheers, Alex
