well your right i haven't had the case off for a while to look at
my sb live, i believe the awe64 was the card i had prior to this one
and it did have a discrete crystal on it, but there is also the possiblilty
that it(the crystal) could be used for something else, i don't know what,
but it could be. so i'd risk a card for nothing.
16 bit at 48,000 is about as good as an adat, which is good enough in most
cases.
the pc 4 and 8 track cards have better res. and are pretty damn cheap now
too.
which will probably be the route i take.
