Probably a good idea in general; audio application screens are
generally designed for audio engineers, not musicians. :-)

AFAIK, the same reason why LCD panels suck real bad as a CRT
replacement for people with "electricity allergy" - the light source.
The illuminating panels seem to be the source of nearly all radiation
you get from an LCD. (Not just the light, that is. ;-)
I've heard people with that kind of problems having success with
replacing the light source with some bulb + diffusor solution. Might
work for guitar players as well...

Shouldn't matter much, I think.
(Although digital signals should theoretically cause cables to emmit
more RF noise and less LF/AF noise regardless of what the image looks
like, whereas analog signals contain exactly the transients you see
in the image + sync pulses.)
