[copper shielding]
i found it to be essential to solder these copper strips together -
just overlapping them will make poor contact, especially if they are
of the self-adhesive kind with a nice insulating glue layer.
as to the swivel-chair approach towards noise reduction: personally,
i suck badly when i try to play while watching meters and whatnot on
the screen, so i move to a good 90 degrees angle anyway, just to
concentrate. might work for others as well :)
the news about noisy LCD panels sounds scary. i'm dreaming all the
time to get one and place it on my board between the near-fields.
seems i better rethink that.
any guesses as to why these beasts might be so problematic ? does it
happen with digital as well as analog cables ?
