Hi lad-folk,

        Last year I posted a few email massages to list about adding
networking support to sfront. We just finished writing a paper on that
project:

We'll be presenting this paper at NOSSDAV on Long Island NY in June,
this is a networking + media conference, see:

for details. The idea in the paper that might interest LAD-folk is an
RTP packetization for MIDI for performance applications, that includes
a forward-error-correction scheme tailored to MIDI. We're thinking
about bringing it to the IETF AVT working group for consideration as a
standard RTP packetization (probably in a few months), I'll send a
pointer to the group when there's an Internet-Draft ready to post ...

Note that the code described in the paper isn't in the sfront release
yet; expect an sfront networking release to appear in a few months ...
