OK folks, JACK CVS is now online:

for anonymous access:

  % cvs -d:pserver:anonymous_AT_cvs.jackit.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/jackit login
  <press RETURN>
  % cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous_AT_cvs.jackit.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/jackit co jack

if you want write access, ask and you'll probably get it. then:

  export CVS_RSH=ssh
  cvs -z3 -d:ext:developername_AT_cvs.jackit.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/jackit co jack

where "developername" is replaced by your SF user name.

the version in CVS has several significant improvements over the last
tarball, including fixes related to shmat, as well as other
corrections and redesigns.

as previously, JACK comes with an ALSA 0.9 "driver". if someone would
care to write an OSS API "driver", that would be very helpful for some
people. if the source code doesn't make it clear, i can fill you in on
what the driver needs to do.

right now, all licensing is GPL. i will change that as soon as i find
the time, so that the stuff related to libjack will be LGPL. i will
also start the JACK mailing list ASAP.

-------------

meanwhile,

        http://jackit.sf.net/

has the bare framework of a website with my photo-realistic logo and a
loose framework cribbed from the ardour website. there's no text for
anything yet.

volunteers for the web site would be welcome, especially if you don't
happen to like my existing layout (which i don't, at least not much).
