FYI: wordclock is a h/w issue. it never appears in s/w except as an
option. word clock runs at a frequency way to high to handle on a
general purpose CPU, IIRC. it merely takes over clocking the A-D/D-A
converters, and has nothing to do with "sync" in the sense of
SMPTE/MTC or any of that stuff.
