Wrong... What's still downloadable are the 'around' librairies and
tools. The broadcast2000 package itself has been removed. Hopefully there
is mirrors of this software all around the world.

I'm greatly sad to see that this software was removed from the
distribution. Seeing recent legal actions against free software (like
KPublisher) make me think that some people will try to go against free
software using more and more intimidating ways. This is sad. Recently I
discussed with a little compagny owner who said he'd prefers to sell
Novell based servers rather than Linux based servers because "free
software will kill the computer world".

More and more "old stylish" people are thinking this way and are really
afraid of free software. This is not only concerning audio/media branches
but the whole free software community.

Perhaps we (speaking for the whole free software community) shall take
this seriously and try to develop "official" legal sections to help
solving those problems.

As free software keeps growing, we simply can't do without legal stuff
now. Here in france we have a law that enforce that every software should
be given translated in french, manuel include. Of course, on linux this
can't be for 100% of the distributions. So people are already arguing that
free software are illegal in france since they aren't translated.

Will free software be killed by the law? I don't think so because too many
people are working on them. But this will surely slow its growth and we
are assured we will loose some of the best "professional" software like
Broadcast 2000 or KPublisher.
