Some are non-technical, but many are highly-detailed and at the level
you're looking for ...
For MP3, though, David Pan's tutorial in ACM Multimedia is the best
I've seen, when I teach MP3 lectures I teach off of it ... its worth
a trip to your local academic library to make a copy of it ...
