You can find documentation for ALSA's API at:
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/alsa-lib/
In particular, its MIDI sequencer documentation is at:
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/alsa-lib/group___sequencer.html
I know it's not as instructive as _The Programmer's Guide to OSS_
(http://www.opensound.com/pguide/oss.pdf) but it's a start... Note: I
found the ALSA project team accepts patches for spelling and grammatical
errors. Also, if someone is looking for a way to contribute then consider
learning Doxygen (http://www.doxygen.org) and helping them finish
their documentation.
