I'm looking at that at the moment.

It seems the doc project for Jack is practically non existent. I am not
sufficiently competent in C to understand Jack solely from an API
reference. But I assume there is a good amount of gen in the audio-dev
archive.

A quick question, do I need to load a Jack server independently of my
actual software? If so, does this have an increased processing overhead?
I apologise if my questions are obvious and look forward to a time when
I can answer the questions ;o)

My feeling is that my problem should be very easy to solve. I'm really
only using the audio input end temporarily (to allow me to test the
software) until I port the program to a DSP, which'll require its own
dedicated A/D anyway.
