The main reasoning behind the design of ssm is that there is no distinction
between control and audio - and that it wont break if you plug the "wrong"
output into a input.
However for LADSPA plugins, that can be used by many different types of hosts,
I can see the advantage. Maybe if the host could change how the plugin
interpreted it's control data?
