graphics should not be a problem (bitmap blits don't
create relevant cpu load on recent systems). a rough
figure for the system's total cpu load for every effect
running on its own (if that is possible) would be a good
start.

if you don't run "ms access" or other busy-waiting apps
in the background the system part of the cpu load should
be negligible.

most of what i do is 64 internally and 32 for inter-module
exchange.
