I would stick with one amp model, the best plot we have so far is
of input amplitude: http://quitte.de/spectral-evolution.gif

We know that signal frequency effects the output too, but one thinkg at a
time. It would be interesting to see how mardware boxes' harmonics cary
with amplitude.
