Ralf: seeing your obvious problems with (English) reading comprehension
- not for the first time - I must say the best you could do is to keep
out of this.

Mr. Keller: Either the code is GPL and redistribution is allowed, or it
isn't GPL and therefore would break the GPL license of another project,
if I got that part of this thread right.

Possible reasons:
- duplication/waste of effort
- making things harder for users and distributors, having to look into
the differences and implications
- emotional attachment due to long and hard work
- not wanting to see credit given to the forker standing on _his_
shoulders

Those who don't write and release code should be very careful when
discussing such issue with those who do.
