What do you use now? Or what's your favourite?
Does your playing style demand that Marshall sound?
If you play rhythm, probably it's OK, right?
If you play lead, you might say no?
I find Marshalls tend to sound best for the crunchy
Metallica type rhythm sound.
I'm just happy I have some choice now. JCM900 vst or
the C* Amp ladspa JCM800 sim.
Both sound good, and are worthy of using on tracks.
I need some kind of heavy sound, so I should be good to go now.
As for the real JCM900, I can't really judge if it's bad or not
but I have played through them and they seem OK.
I mean, you know most Marshalls have that distinctive sound, so...
You either love it or hate it. Probably a matter of personal taste.
Depends on the type of sound you're after. Rhythm or lead etc.
Here's a funny irony: As we were discussing JCM900, my friend
just dropped of his real JCM900 head for repair!
Shall I make impulse files for it before it leaves? He he...
About the JCM900 vst: It occurred to me that it
sounds like it a simulation of *both* the amp and
some sort of 4x12 cabinet, but they don't seem to mention
the cabinet. Does that seem correct?
I mean, I can't see feeding it into a cab sim at this point.
But still, the sim itself is a really good simulation of the JCM900,
(and cabinet?) whether you like them or not...
Tim.
