Actually I always thought doing automation with JACK standalone
applications was a huge disadvantage compared with plugins. But it's
actually good possible to sent midi cc automation from a DAW to a JACK
standalone softsynth like Zynaddsubfx. Or I was ignorant, or I'm still
ignorant, but I don't see the problem not so much anymore. :)

By the way, I've heard people are using your plugins too, so don't worry
too much about it. ;)
