My apologies for a somewhat OT posting, but I think that readers of this
list are among the more likely to have a similar setup.
Recently I tried to upgrade my system to the 2.4.17 kernel with the
pre-emptable patches. However after that I kept getting file corruptions
on my reiserfs partitions.
It supsequently emerged that one of the memory cards had gone bad, so it's
not clear to me whether the corruption was due to a problem with the
kernel (& patches) or due to the bad memory. As the corruption trashed
/usr and neccessitated a reinstall I'm wary of trying again.
Does anyone else have any experiences (positive or negative) with the
combination described (i.e 2.4.17 + reiser + pre-emptable (or low-latency)?
TIA
James
