That's the attraction for me, as well. Also, sfront has the "active"
driver interface for which I'm hoping to be able to create a JACK
driver. Looks doable even with my meager C skills.

Got a direct link to an mp4 or saol/sasl files? That site, true to
the warning on the front page, crashes netscape 4...

Well, I went there hoping to find three things in particular, and
found none of them. I was looking for:

- a community of people discussing how to write saol effectively,
something like the csound list.

- a largeish archive of saol files, somewhat like the links from
csounds.com.

- an emacs saol-mode

No luck on any of the above...

Anyway, I've solved my crashing instrument problem. Quite an
instructive experience, this is the first time I've really tried to
work with saol. Working orc and sco attached, it's a port of my csound
pwm instrument which is (IMHO) the best simulated PWM I've heard in
csound. Aliasing is pretty well controlled, modulation sounds tasty,
and it doesn't require sr = kr.

If I sound like I'm bragging, it's because I've written very few
csound instruments I'm really satisfied with, and the solution I came
up with is not something I've seen anywhere else! So for once I'll
indulge in a little self-aggrandizement.
