somewhere i read that make -j4 was recommended for a dual smp
system.
you are right about the extra context switches, but i think with -j4
you would waste less cpu time waiting for disk i/o (there's always
another task to run).
i always use -j4, and it feels faster than -j2 in most cases. (just
an impression, no benchmark data available.)
