I started writing that ages ago, and never finished or released it. I've
been planning to revive it at some point though as the idea had some
promise.

Basically it was an additive synth, where the network of operators and
generators were evolved. More genetic programming than GA. From what I
remember it was at the stage where it was making noises, but it wasn't
very controllable - the change in sound from one generation to the next
was quite large (and it crashed lots).

You might be interested in these evolvable SSM plugins:

(unfortunately you'll need to run them with SSM 0.0.7 for now, they
haven't been updated yet)
